How Far Should You Hit Your 7 Iron? The Truth Exposed - Stop The Lies

Newsletter #116: How Far SHOULD You Hit Your 7 Iron?

Do you sometimes feel you don’t get as much out of your swing as you should? Let’s take a look at a potential power leak, and how to fix it…

Build Better Arm Structure To Unlock Your Power Potential:

Why aren’t you hitting your 7 iron (and therefore other clubs too) as far as you should be?

There are loads of reasons for power leaks in the golf swing, but poor arm structure is a super common one I see all the time among amateur golfers. Let me explain…

Build Width and Power in Your Swing with This Backswing Drill:

The Drill: Using a mid-iron and just one hand, you’ll feel your lead shoulder move down and your hands lift up, creating the stretch and width you see in tour swings. It builds better extension, improves club path, and helps you strike your shots purer.

The best part? You can practice this at home, just be careful of those ceilings!

Other Factors Come Into Play Too:

Of course, other factors have an influence on how far golfers are hitting their 7 irons (and other clubs obviously)…

Speed is the most obvious one which can also be influenced by age. The actual loft on your 7 iron will make a difference too. Not all 7 irons are created equal! Then of course things like dynamic loft (loft delivered at impact) will all have an impact as well. How far you are hitting your irons can teach you a lot about potential deficiencies in your golf swing.

Take a look at the table below and see if this week’s swing drill can help you get closer to the numbers you should be hitting, or even past them!
