The Downswing Feel That Creates More Speed...

Newsletter #162 - How This “Wrong” Feeling Could Increase Your Driver Distance…

If you want more distance and consistency with your driver, this is a really useful feeling to try.

A lot of amateur golfers get to the top of the backswing and then keep the club tucked in too close to them on the way down.

The trail arm stays bent for way too long, the club never really gets any width, and they end up trying to hold onto all their angles through impact.

DISASTROUS!

And this is where we often see those weak, cutting drives.

Instead, I want you to feel like you’re doing almost the opposite.

Let me explain…

Why This Helps:

Creating a little more width can make it easier to:

  • Deliver the club more freely through impact ✅

  • Get rid of weak cutting drives ✅

  • Create more speed ✅

  • Improve strike ✅

  • Hit longer, more consistent drives ✅

For a lot of golfers, the problem isn’t that they’re releasing the club too early.

It’s that they’re holding onto everything for too long.

Something close to my heart…

What I would consider my home club (where I grew up learning the game of golf) is in the process of raising funds for a cancer charity that is close to my heart, and that of some of the members who helped me on my way in the world of golf.

If there is anything you can contribute to the cause, no matter how big or small, please use the QR code below.

No pressure, no expectations, just some charitable outreach on my part if this is something you can get behind…

I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!
