The Easy Way To Get "Into The Slot" in The Downswing...

Newsletter #133: The Simple Move That Will Fix Your Club Path:

I’m loving this drill at the moment and I wanted to share it with you…

It’s incredibly simple, works brilliantly with irons and woods, and I’ve been using it a lot recently with golfers working on improving their club path.

Because if you can improve your path and keep the face somewhere near it, you’ll start hitting straighter and longer shots. Let me explain…

The Drill:

Start with an easy club; something like an 8-iron.

Make a full backswing and stop at the top.

From there, your goal is simple…

On the downswing, drop your hands so they cover your trail foot.

So when you look down, your hands should feel like they’re moving down toward that right foot. You can see what I mean in the video above…

At The Same Time:

  • Lean into your lead side

  • Let the arms drop ✅

  • Keep your back facing the target for a moment ✅

Don’t worry if it feels exaggerated…

You might hit a few heavy shots at first; that’s completely normal.

You’re exaggerating the feeling so your body learns a new movement. Go big or go home.

Today’s newsletter is brought to you by ARCCOS AIR:

Why it works:

In the backswing, your arms lift. That’s normal.

But what a lot of golfers forget is that if your arms lift on the way back, they also need to drop on the way down. I explain everything clearly in the video above.

Something close to my heart…

What I would consider my home club (where I grew up learning the game of golf) is in the process of raising funds for a cancer charity that is close to my heart, and that of some of the members who helped me on my way in the world of golf.

If there is anything you can contribute to the cause, no matter how big or small, please use the QR code below.

No pressure, no expectations, just some charitable outreach on my part if this is something you can get behind…

I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!

Please reply to this email with requests for future topics you would like me to cover.

Have a great Easter weekend!
