The Impact Drill Every Golfer Should Try...
If your golf swing feels cramped through impact, there's a good chance you're making the game much harder than it needs to be.
Many golfers move towards the ball as they swing down. (Early extension, etc…)
It doesn't feel dramatic as it’s happening, but it robs you of space at exactly the wrong moment.
When that happens, your hands have nowhere to go.
The result?
Flipped wrists, inconsistent strikes and a constant battle with fat, thin and offline shots.
Does this sound familiar?
Give yourself room to swing…
This week's lesson features one of my favourite drills for creating space through impact.
It's simple ✅
It's a little unusual ✅
And it gives you instant feedback ✅
The goal isn't perfection...
It's simply creating enough space for the club to do its job.
Next time you're on the range, focus on:
✔ Creating space through impact
✔ Staying over the ball rather than standing up
✔ Letting the club swing through naturally
✔ Making solid contact feel easier, not harder
Fancy upping the anti next time you go to the range? Try the Window Golf app to turn your phone into a precision aiming tool…
Something close to my heart…
What I would consider my home club (where I grew up learning the game of golf) is in the process of raising funds for a cancer charity that is close to my heart, and that of some of the members who helped me on my way in the world of golf.
If there is anything you can contribute to the cause, no matter how big or small, please use the QR code below.
No pressure, no expectations, just some charitable outreach on my part if this is something you can get behind…
I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!
Please reply to this email with requests for future topics you would like me to cover.
Have a great weekend!
