The Secret Move That Will Change Your Strike INSTANTLY...

Newsletter #134: The Strike Series Episode 1 (3-Part Series) - Ball First, Then Ground…

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to build your strike properly:

  • This week: Ball then turf

  • Next week: Controlling low point

  • Week three: Controlling club path

So, by the end of this three-part series, you’ll have strike AND direction working together.

Let’s start with the bit most golfers struggle with…

BALL THEN TURF STRIKES:

If you’re hitting:

  • Fat shots 😲

  • Thin shots 🫣

  • Or just inconsistent contact 😭

There’s a very good chance you’re not getting far enough across onto your lead side before you strike the ball.

What we see a lot is golfers starting the downswing with rotation first. We don’t want this.

That sends the club off in the wrong direction and leaves the strike behind the ball. Watch the video above to see how to fix it…

Celebrate Masters Week (and the beginning of the golf season for lots of golfers) with some new threads. The Ambassador Pack is waiting for you…

Why This Drill Works:

This drill forces you to…

✔ Shift pressure onto your lead side
✔ Move your strike forward
✔ Stop hanging back
✔ Create that ball-then-turf contact

As with all golf swing drills, you might hit a few odd shots at first — that’s fine. It’s all part of the learning process.

Remember, you’re exaggerating the move so your body learns it.

  • Lean into your lead side

  • Let the arms drop ✅

  • Keep your back facing the target for a moment ✅

Something close to my heart…

What I would consider my home club (where I grew up learning the game of golf) is in the process of raising funds for a cancer charity that is close to my heart, and that of some of the members who helped me on my way in the world of golf.

If there is anything you can contribute to the cause, no matter how big or small, please use the QR code below.

No pressure, no expectations, just some charitable outreach on my part if this is something you can get behind…

I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!

Please reply to this email with requests for future topics you would like me to cover.

Have a great Easter weekend!
