The Shoulder Turn Secret to a Perfect Club Path...
Good players repeat a common pattern in their downswing, and I want you guys to do the same, because it’s going to help you control your club path and ultimately hit straighter, more consistent golf shots.
Let me explain…
Forget the Club. Control the Path with Your Shoulders!
Here’s the problem: Lots of golfers are either too closed with their shoulders during their downswing, or too open. What do I mean by this? Well, good players tend to return to zero degrees (square to target after turning “closed” in the backswing) as their club reaches the point of being parallel to the ground.
This is what we’re aiming for.
If your shoulders are still closed at this point in the swing, the club might get stuck behind you and cause you to flip at the ball through impact. Sound familiar?
At the other end of the scale, if your shoulders open too early, you might have issues cutting across the ball. I’m guessing most of you guys have experienced one or both of these issues in the past?

Tracking stats can help us manage our expectations on the golf course, learn the EXACT areas our games need to improve in, and basically stop lying to ourselves.
The best way to track your own stats? I would recommend Arccos Golf to anyone looking to level up their golf game. I mean, you can get better without even having to change your swing, but hopefully I can help you with that too!

A FINAL WORD: What We’re Aiming For With Our Shoulders…
Benchmark: when the club is in its last parallel (shaft parallel to ground before impact), shoulders should feel square to the target. This checkpoint is relatively easy to reproduce as you practice and can help you banish unwanted moves as you make your downswing.
These include what many refer to as “coming over the top” or “getting stuck”, which can commonly be caused by the timing of your shoulders “opening” (remember we closed them during the backswing) back towards zero (square to target) during the downswing.
This simple swing thought might just help you eradicate destructive swing moves that have been plaguing your golf for years.
I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!

Have a great week!
