Why Your Club Path Is Broken (and How to Fix It in One Drill)…
Here’s the problem: Lots of golfers “early extend” with their hips as they make the downswing. This common swing fault is not only responsible for massive slice shots (with any club) but also encourages golfers to get stuck way inside and fling the club at the ball which can sometimes produce crazy hook shots.
Massive slices and snap hooks…let’s say goodbye to both of those, shall we?
Why This Golf Swing Drill Works
Trains proper hip movement: Teaches the trail hip to move backward, not toward the ball, preventing early extension.
Improves club path: Eliminates both “over-the-top” and “under-drop” swings by syncing hip and shoulder motion.
Promotes correct sequencing: Starts the downswing from the ground up, helping energy transfer smoothly through the body.
Enhances rotation: Encourages you to turn through the shot instead of sliding or flipping the hands.
Builds better impact position: Maintains posture and spine angle, improving strike consistency and control.
Improves timing and rhythm: Repeating the move helps you coordinate hip movement with the club’s release.
Can be practiced anywhere: Mirror or slow-motion reps reinforce proper muscle memory even without hitting balls.
