This FAKE Backswing Move is RUINING Your Golf Swing's Potential...
I’ve got bad news for you…
Your backswing might look nice on camera, but you’ve been FAKING a good shoulder turn this whole time. Trust me, I used to do this too, and am STILL fighting this move. Let me explain how I’m trying to change it and how you can too…
The FAKE Shoulder Turn:
Many golfers create the illusion of a full backswing, but in reality, their body hasn’t turned much at all. This “fake turn” happens when the trail arm bends excessively and the shoulder stays closed. It looks like a big turn on camera, but it’s mostly arm movement, not body rotation.
The drill in this week’s video helps you open up your trail shoulder, reduce trail arm collapse, and encourage a true body turn. The result: a more powerful, repeatable swing with greater shoulder rotation and better ball striking.

Stats like the ones in this newsletter help us manage our expectations on the golf course, learn the EXACT areas our games need to improve in, and basically stop lying to ourselves.
The best way to track your own stats? I would recommend Arccos Golf to anyone looking to level up their golf game. I mean, you can get better without even having to change your swing, but hopefully I can help you with that too!

Why This Week’s Drill Works:
Why it works:
Trains proper external rotation of the trail shoulder.
Encourages the upper body to rotate fully, eliminating “fake turn.”
Improves backswing width, depth, and sequencing.
Results:
Fuller, more powerful shoulder turn.
More dynamic, athletic backswing.
Improved consistency and clubhead speed.
Freer arm movement without collapse.
