This Is Killing Your Driver Distance...
Over the next three weeks, I’m going to share three key setup ideas I use with my driver.
They’re simple ✅
They’re basic ✅
But they’re also some of the most overlooked things I see from everyday golfers, especially those who aren’t hitting their tee shots as far as they think they should be.
Speaking of hitting it further…
Back to the lesson and the first distance key we’ll be looking at; widening your stance…
If I want to hit my driver as far as possible, I widen my stance.
In fact, I’ll often go up to two inches wider than feels comfortable.
That’s the KEY part.
Most golfers do is stand too narrow because it feels safe and controlled, but it doesn’t allow you to:
Make a full turn ❌
Create proper stretch ❌
Or actually go at the ball with any meaningful speed ❌
You end up making those “safe” swings that feel nice… but don’t go anywhere.
Here’s what a wider stance gives you…
When you widen your stance properly, it allows you to:
✔ Load into the trail side
✔ Re-centre and push back through
✔ Make bigger turns
✔ And actually use your body to create speed
Most importantly, it gives you the STABILITY to go after it.

Something close to my heart…
What I would consider my home club (where I grew up learning the game of golf) is in the process of raising funds for a cancer charity that is close to my heart, and that of some of the members who helped me on my way in the world of golf.
If there is anything you can contribute to the cause, no matter how big or small, please use the QR code below.
No pressure, no expectations, just some charitable outreach on my part if this is something you can get behind…
I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!
Please reply to this email with requests for future topics you would like me to cover.
Have a great Easter weekend!
