The Move That Gets Your 3-Wood Airborne...
Welcome back to week two of hitting better fairway woods from the deck.
If you missed last week, go back and watch it first (WATCH WEEK 1 HERE) where we fixed your setup:
Ball position ✅
Handle position ✅
Wider stance ✅
And movement before the swing ✅
Now we move on to something just as important.
Your backswing (Video Below)…
The mistake most golfers make…
So many golfers swing their 3-wood like a gentle iron shot.
🚨 That’s the issue 🚨
A 3-wood from the deck needs:
Speed ✅
Rotation ✅
Commitment ✅
Without enough turn and speed, the ball simply:
Falls out of the air ❌
Spins too low ❌
And never really launches properly ❌
Today’s newsletter is brought to you by ARCCOS:
What I want you to feel:
With irons, my shoulder turn measures around 90°.
With fairway woods and driver, we want it closer to 100°.
That extra turn matters!
For lots of golfers, it’s simply about feeling:
The chest opening more ✅
The shoulders turning further ✅
And the lead shoulder covering the trail foot ✅
These are the key checkpoints. Let’s take a closer look…
Something close to my heart…
What I would consider my home club (where I grew up learning the game of golf) is in the process of raising funds for a cancer charity that is close to my heart, and that of some of the members who helped me on my way in the world of golf.
If there is anything you can contribute to the cause, no matter how big or small, please use the QR code below.
No pressure, no expectations, just some charitable outreach on my part if this is something you can get behind…
I hope you enjoyed this issue and it helps your game!
Please reply to this email with requests for future topics you would like me to cover.
Have a great Easter weekend!
